I live in San Francisco.
When I was in kindergarten I gave myself fifteen middle names, most of which were spelling variations of each other. I was almost named Julianna, or Christopher, and in college I may have gone by an embarrassing drag name featuring three x’s. You can call me Jana.
I’m interested mostly in photographing forgotten and abandoned spaces, storytelling photojournalism, small treasures and personal shrines, fashion portraiture, street style, and landscapes so expansive they makes you feel infinite. My work is heavily influenced by the unintentional, unapologetic kitsch of small-town Southern US. In my life I will travel the world but I reckon that’ll keep with me.
